Art began his EMS journey over 25 years ago first as a volunteer EMT with the Far Hills / Bedminster First Aid Squad and later the Long Valley First Aid Squad. He progressed to becoming a Paramedic, with his first paid shift being on 9/11. He later transitioned to a Flight Paramedic position for Atlantic and Cooper. In 2019 he began managing operations for the Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic Units and all Critical Care Transport (Air & Ground) services for Atlantic Health System (Morristown, Overlook, Chilton, Newton, Hackettstown, and CentraState Medical Centers).
In addition to EMS, Art enjoyed a 20+ career as a management consultant helping companies with managing IT projects, process engineering, and business analysis. Prior to his current role at Atlantic, he led nationwide Continuous Improvement efforts for the American Red Cross in Washington, DC.
Art is a graduate of Kean University with a Master of Science in Management & System Analysis, and from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. He also completed FEMA’s yearlong National Emergency Management Executive academy. He held the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification for over 10 years and currently is a Certified Emergency Manager (CEM). Art’s international experience includes HCPC certification in the United Kingdom where he practiced as a Paramedic for several years, and both professional and volunteer work on 4 continents.
